Federation of Canadian Municipalities
Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) has been the national voice of municipal government since 1901. The members include more than 2,000 municipalities of all sizes, from Canada’s cities and rural communities to northern communities and 20 provincial and territorial municipal associations.
FCM decided to modernize its current technology for their grants management solution to serve its membership better. Transition included moving to a cloud version of Microsoft Azure, and Dynamics CRM.
FCM had been using CRM on-premise technology for over 15 years. They wanted to take advantage of the new out of the box functionality of the cloud version of CRM Dynamics and its native integration with Power Apps portal technology to reduce existing complex portal customizations.
Additionally, CRM configuration contained several elements that were no longer beneficial to the business processes and couldn’t integrate with 3rd party tools.
Migration to the cloud version provided a great opportunity to enhance these elements and integrate with newer systems.
There is growing demand for easy online funding services at all levels. The intake and assessment of multiple funding requests creates administrative burden that can be overwhelming, and expensive to manage.
Grant+ took this challenge head on with an advanced grants management digital service delivery tool designed to provide secure online services and give administrators the flexibility to handle demands effectively.
The primary objective was to migrate FCM's mission-critical, on-premise Dynamics 365 system to the cloud. The legacy system was the backbone of their Grants and Loan Management Solution; the goal was to re-architect this entire ecosystem using our Grant+ solution providing FCM with a modern, mobile-accessible, and future-proof platform.
With Grant+, FCM can now provide clients a user-friendly self-serve tool that includes registrations, submissions, reviews, payments and progress tracking status reports by leveraging MS Dynamics 365 & Power Platform.
